Late-Summer Fun Near SouthGlenn Place: August and Early Fall Events for 2026

Late summer in the Denver South Metro area brings warm evenings, fresh Colorado produce and a full calendar of outdoor entertainment. From community festivals and live concerts to farmers markets and family-friendly activities, there are plenty of things to do near SouthGlenn Place Apartments throughout August and September 2026.

Located in Centennial near Englewood and Littleton, SouthGlenn Place makes it easy to enjoy some of the season’s best local events.

Celebrate Western Welcome Week in Littleton

A South Metro tradition for nearly a century, Western Welcome Week returns to Littleton from August 7–16, 2026. The 10-day celebration features more than 40 events, including live music, community gatherings, arts and crafts, and outdoor activities.

Popular highlights include:

  • Concert and Drone Show: August 7 at Sterne Park
  • RiverPointe Swing Dance: August 11
  • Festival Day and Grand Parade: August 15 in Downtown Littleton
  • Duck Race: August 16 at Sterne Park

Festival Day is one of the week’s biggest attractions, bringing a parade, craft fair, art expo, live entertainment and community activities to Main and Prince streets. Many events are free, making Western Welcome Week an easy addition to your late-summer plans. View the 2026 Western Welcome Week highlights.

Enjoy Live Music Under the Stars

Summer concert season continues throughout August with outdoor performances around Centennial and the surrounding area.

On August 8, Centennial Under the Stars takes over Centennial Center Park from 5–9 p.m. The annual celebration features live music, food trucks and an interactive activity zone.

On August 22, the Symphony of the Rockies returns to Centennial Center Park for Cinematic Symphony. From 5:30–7:30 p.m., the orchestra will perform recognizable music from family-friendly movies. Pack a blanket, bring a picnic and settle in for an evening of music outdoors.

Both events offer free admission. Find additional details from the City of Centennial.

Shop Local Farmers Markets

August and September are prime farmers market months in Colorado, with late-summer favorites like peaches, tomatoes, sweet corn and peppers appearing alongside baked goods, flowers and handcrafted products.

The Victory Market on South University is especially convenient for SouthGlenn Place residents. Located at 6400 S. University Boulevard, the market is scheduled for Fridays from 10 a.m.–2 p.m. through October. Shoppers can browse produce, meats, baked goods, honey, coffee, flowers, crafts and other local products.

Additional South Metro options include the Downtown Littleton Farmers Market, held Sundays from 9 a.m.–2 p.m. through September, and the Aspen Grove Farmers Market, held Fridays from 10 a.m.–2 p.m. through September. Explore the local farmers market schedule.

Experience the Englewood Block Party

Close out August at the Englewood Block Party on Saturday, August 29. Beginning at 4 p.m., this community celebration brings residents and local businesses together for an evening of entertainment and activities.

The event is an opportunity to explore Englewood, try local food and enjoy one more outdoor celebration before summer winds down. Check the City of Englewood event calendar for the latest information.

Watch Art Come to Life at SouthGlenn

Early fall brings an especially colorful event close to home. The Centennial Chalk Art Festival will be held at The Streets at SouthGlenn on Saturday, September 12, from 10 a.m.–4 p.m.

Watch local artists transform the pavement into elaborate chalk creations, then browse community vendors, listen to live music and vote for your favorite artwork.
